In addition to the European Union, Serbia has signed a number of bilateral agreements on visa-free regulations. For example, citizens of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation may enter and stay in Serbia for up to 30 days without a previously issued visa. Serbia has signed a similar agreement with Turkey, which allows Turkish nationals visa-free entry and stay in Serbia for up to 3 months.
A residence permit for a temporary stay must be applied for by all foreign nationals who intend to stay in Serbia longer than is permitted by the visa issued for entry or by international agreements on visa-free regulations.
A temporary stay is granted for a period of 6 months to a maximum of one year. A residence permit that has already been issued can be extended annually.
An application for an extension of temporary residence must be submitted no earlier than 3 months and no later than 30 days before the expiry of the previously issued residence permit.
